Got back from a day standing in drizzle sucking gloop out of ponds, trimming back plants and reeds and generally settling things down for the winter - talking to the owners and explaining why they shouldn't be feeding their fish regular fish food now its getting cold - and why they have to stop when the temp drops below 4 C - its harder worker making people understand than it is cleaning their ponds.

One lady was really infuriating - I explain it all and she says 'yes I will feed just them a little bit', So I explain that if she feeds them at all, the food will rot - uneaten - pollute the water and will poison her fish as they lie still at the bottom of the pond then, when they get distressed, they swim up to the surface through lots of different temperature layers- so, if the pollution doesn't kill them, the temperature changes will. She smiles a really smirky smile and says 'yes, of course, well, we'll see what the expert says'. She asks my boss, who repeats what I have just said - she doesn't even try to say sorry for doubting me, she just writes it on a notepad for her husband. The boss said she will carry on feeding her fish 'just a little bit' no matter what we say, the fish will die and she will replace them without a comment (or she will blame everything except her), Its OK boss is going to charge her extra if the dead fish pollute her pond :)

Anyhow ... a little sidetracked with a rant there ... got back home and found Dad clearing out files from the computer. He found my Sims game which Windows has labelled 'rarely' accessed ... pfft

I start playing on my long-neglected Sims game, I go to the toilet and leave the game running ... by the time I get back my fave Sim is having a gay relationship with the paperboy and someone has got his widowed mother pregnant .... jeeez, i was only gone for a few minutes !!!

Pondering

19:35 Sep 25 2007
Times Read: 860

There are some things in life that deserve a good pondering, in the last hour these are mine

How can a completely blank portfolio be rated 8.7 - and why you want to leave a public message telling the world you rated a black page with a 10 ?

As one of the symptoms of mercury poisoning is a fever, would you get taller as you died ?

If James T Kirk was boldly going where no man had gone before, how did he keep meeting men that were already there ?

Back to school was good, still got a little sniffle but it's nothing

Anyhow on the way home I saw the boss's truck and wandered over to say Hi. His eyes actually lit up when he saw me, that was nice considering it must have been a real surprise.

He was puzzling over a pond fence that had stopped working after he had done cleaning. Well, tsk, that will teach him to clean ponds without me.

I go round and sure enough the earth clamp top was off. So I push it back on without thinking. Hearing the boss squeak was proof that (a) I had fixed the fence, (b) it was on and (c) he was touching it.

My work done ... hehehe ... I scooted off on my bike, now I have to prepare for the first debate of the term.

This house believes that climate change is irreversible

I am arguing con this, oh well google here I come :)

I was trying another quiz and found this question ...

Where is the kinkiest place to do it?

In front of a window.

In a car.

In a tree.

Subway.

Well this got me stumped til I figured out that they were talking about doing 'it' in an American underground railway station and not in the middle of a sandwich shop !!!

Today we were working really close to a place where there is a Cadbury's chocolate factory shop.

I scurried on down and bought two bags of mis-shapen chocolate offcuts for £3 - thats 3Kg of pure cocoa driven delight yummy

Just gotta remember to pace myself or I will throw up (again)

throat has stopped hurting and coughing isn't so bad. I just feel all 'blah' but not all the time.

I'm logging in and out of VR at the moment when blah isn't winning.

I read a book and watched 'Columbo' - I had the murder solved wayyyy before he had - mostly cause I saw the guy do it.

I'm going to ask if I can go back to school tomorrow, I am sooooo bored, but I am fairly sure they're going to wait til after the weekend

PS Now the world is talking about the 'bug' here

Still ill ...

Tried to go to work yesterday, boss saw me shuffling toward the van and told me to go back to bed - I went and slept til this morning

Doc was called but telephone back to say everyone is getting this, take aspirin - drink lots - sleep more

Its not so good; hot and cold flushes, sore throat, chest is burning, back is aching, sneezing a lot too, cough is trying to drag my red-hot wire-wool lungs up past my throat ... you get the idea huh

Anyhow I've been allowed a visit in here cos I haven't been in since Saturday and, then I felt so bad, I didn't do much

I see the procurator queue is standing at 5 right now, can't set myself to work through them - I'm sure they will keep

Back to bed ...... *sniff*

Lunchtime entry

12:47 Sep 12 2007
Times Read: 956

Just called in to check my messages, its been a whole summer since I did this midday.

I found this as a reply to a 'thank you' note I had sent to someone who had added something to the VR database ...

You are very welcome, but the real thanks is owed to you and the other procurators. You spend much more time adding items to the database then it takes to suggest something.

Awwwwww now that is nice

Warm and fuzzy

In the House forum today and a subject there sort of touched on something I really don't like talking about.

Now once upon a time, I would have started thinking about it and just kept going til I freaked out. I would have avoided looking until I was sure it had gone.

Nope, I worked out what I wanted to say then had some help on exactly how to get the point across without saying the stuff I didn't want to mention ... typed it out, had it read over .. spell check and posted. No probs

awesome

This place has healing powers ... I'm telling you

Lots of stuff

Found something to buy with some of my bonus money ... wooo well worth it, bet someone thought I would forget ;) Would have done it before but someone forget their paypal password again sheeeesh

Nearly adopted a zoo wolf with some of the rest of my money, but I am going to wait a month for one of them to give birth, then have a cub cos (a) they last longer and (b) I can name it 'Nooska'. I have a toy wolf that I brought over the Ukraine also called 'Nooska' so it will be a set :D

Caught up with the House forum, jeepers its busy of late, but after an hour and a half I had read it all - then off to clear down the procurator queue, felt a little guilty there - one poor person had taken the trouble to suggest about five separate films, gave me links and everything, every single one of them was already listed and i had to break the news *gulp* oh well ...

Rated the whelps, at least some are showing 'under construction' that helps cause sometimes you can't tell if they've finished or are never going to bother, much easier when they do that

Rated the portfolios, one had 5 pics of the ladies cats, no problem with that but her rating was less than a completely blank portfolio - 17 people had rated a black page an overall total of 9.79 hmmmm

BIRD BOX UPDATE

There is a LOT and I mean a lot of activity around the box, there's straw and twigs and stuff that used to be in the box now lying on the driveway underneath - y'know I think there's little ones in there or there were and they've flown.

Can't be sure what's happening, next year I am going to move it to a height where I can see what's going on *nods*

in the last two days, people who I don't recognise have called to read my journal vampirekisses14 and ekvelt1989

They both viewed my profile but didn't rate it and, when I check, they're both "no such user"
